Even though I am ordering three at the same time, there's no reduction in shipping costs, so I feel I know which gesture D-Link has in mind. I was buying three as I wanted one for a DGS-2208 and two for my DGS-2205's.
I see no problems with speed. I expect that some of the features of the later (C1) green designation, is already present in my version.
My switch is an earlier hardware revision, A2. However I am far from happy that it does not include a vertical stand, and when I requested through D-Link's spare part program three vertical stands, their response was fifteen each including shipping and handling.
It appears to switch off those ports which are not presently in use. Overall I am fairly happy with the switch and have been thinking about replacing it with another later revision.
Forty five dollars for something that should have come included with the switches and my likelihood of epigastric regurgitation goes way up. I've developed into a loyal customer having six D-Link routers and switches and an antenna, but I can thank D-Link for reminding me of the value of competition.
I upgraded my old 5 port 10/100 linksys with this D-link gigabit switch, now my computers find each other faster and can trade larger files faster. Its an unmanaged switch, so its plug an play. I had it up and running in 5 min maybe less. Nice upgrade for my network.
I was able to move 4GB/3mins, of course within the same network. Its a very good switch. This switch maintain very good speed. If you are considering a Giga unmanaged switch, yes, Get this one. (base on one month usage).
These switches look good, are totally silent (no fans) and claim to have some power saving benefit but I can't vouch for that. I purchased two of these to replace aging 100 Mbps Linksys switches. I would have given another star but since I've only had them in use for three weeks I'm not certain what their longevity will be. I literally unplugged the cables from the old switch and plugged them into the new switch. Now I can copy and backup very large files/sets of files in a reasonable amount of time. BTW, after rebates, I paid about $35 each for the two I purchased. They're a quick and easy upgrade that I would recommend.
I received this switch to complement my D-Link router which was running out of ports. What can I say, it just works. Unpacked it and plugged it in. Running great without any issues. I now have plenty of extra ports to use. I filled out the rebate form that came with my purchase and received my rebate in about 3weeks.
